Being that I am a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology, I thought I’d get another perspective on Decopatch papers from some art students. These students had many different ideas and uses for the paper, other than the average decoupaging. They thought of it mostly as an addition to mixed media projects. Here are some of the highlights…
- Collage paper – adds texture and depth and gives life
- Gives a 3 dimensional effect without being raised from surface
- Good for “loose painters” who want to add a tighter, more detailed design aspect to their work. (Loose painters was described to me as painters who tend to have large free moving strokes and do not really have the knack for getting into small precise detail)
- Really good for inspirations that can be incorporated into final pieces
